java - REST is built for the Web then what about SOAP? -


i read article telling "rest built web". soap? can not access soap web services without web.so confused.plz clarify means "rest built web", why did not mentioned soap?

it expression add enthusiasm. isn't mean other existing web services architecture aren't build web.

since rest choice implementation lot of lightweight(not xml markup, human readable, no toolkits required build) requirement, has gotten lot of traction in past few years. articles , papers reflect enthusiasm making statement sound universal truth know trying add hint of enthusiasm. doesn't mean soap isn't used equally. soap built web.

they both have advantages , disadvantages. other members on site have given accounts on same. here pointers on 1 used what.
