android - CotntentProvider mime type clarification -


is there difference, client's perspective, whether provider serves data item or dir type? framework use information optimization? can give examples of code mime type matters? use dir mimetype case?

p.s. know dir = collection , item = row. , read doc. still, developer, can't understand why should bother differentiating item dir. isn't enough use dir?
