android - How does AdMob detect developer click? -


in policies of admob, stated -

publishers may not click own ads or use means inflate impressions and/or clicks artificially, including manual methods. testing own ads clicking on them not allowed.

but how admob detects if developer clicks own ad? have read many incidents developer's money confisticated.

do track ip address of developer? track other things in order keep track of developer clicks?

google (which owns admob) not disclose exact details of how click fraud detected (because revealing details make easy circumvent). however, occassionally reveal of general underlying principles or of factors involved did in this 2008 blog post. in terms of automated detection, general priniciple anomaly detection and, stated in blog post, ip address 1 (of many) factors considered in it.
