wifi - why channel representation shows from top to bottom in 802.11ac? -

in 11ac, if channel allocated, 80mhz, example, 48, 44, 40 , 36. here can 48 primary channel , remaining secondary channels.

why can't represent channel allocation 48, 52, 56 , 60. primary channel 48 , remaining secondary channels.

are referring dynamic bandwidth feature in 802.11ac?

primary , secondary channels fallbacks of narrower width when full width of wider channel not available. 80mhz channels labelled center frequency not primary channel.

this link explains it: http://www.revolutionwifi.net/revolutionwifi/2013/03/80211ac-channel-planning.html

for example, have 80mhz channel 42, covers 40mhz channels 36+ , 44+, , 20mhz channels 36, 40, 44 & 48. enterprise systems let designate primary 40mhz channel 36+ or 44+.

this enables 2 aps operate on same 80mhz channel fallback different primary channels when activity on channel detected.
