d3.js - Make stacked area chart overlapping area -


this stacked area chart mike bostock appears misleading me. example, if @ numbers on yaxis, appears (to me) monday 23, lightest blue area has total of approximately 95 or 96, if @ data, total light blue (which group 3) 46 monday 23. why that? because areas stacked ontop of each other, wheras yaxis gives impression (in opinion), example, area @ top of stack includes numbers below (hence reading of 96 group 3 on monday january 23).

my question is, how can graph (code , data below) changed works way interpreted it, raw data area that's ontop includes totals below. not correct term it, want make stacked area chart "overlapping" instead.
